Positive Thinking and Your Career

Well, Mama's got a new job...

Third-base Coach for Dante's Senior Rookie baseball team.

I'm actually pretty excited about it. I really believe that my son and his group of very talented friends can all go really far in baseball. And I'd love to be a part of making that happen. It's a pretty big commitment for me given that the team will be travelling a lot this summer and will have a lot of games to play - but I am up for the challenge. Should be fun!

That's not the only job opportunity that passed across my desk so-to-speak over the past 24 hours. There are some exciting things happening at work as well. I'll keep you all posted...

So, let's talk about jobs and careers.

How'zit going for all of you? (my spouse is South African and I love that expression) How are you all feeling about your job or career prospects?

I just wanted to get a quick pulse-check. I posted a few days ago about determining your life's passions and I was hoping that you've all made some good progress since then. In late October, I also posted Your Dream Career Awaits You! to get you focused on what you love to do, on what inspires you. That was October, any movement forward?

Well, if you've made progress, good for you! If not, what's holding you back? Here are some thought-starters:

We have been taught to believe that negative equals realistic and positive equals unrealistic. - Susan Jeffers

When we think positively, we risk disappointment. When we don't, we ensure it. - Lana Limpert

Are you convinced that successful people think positively? That they believe in their power? That they move forward with conviction? That they dream big dreams? That they believe that these dreams are achievable? That they are always learning and growing? That they enjoy each day of the journey? That they act from inspiration?

Well, not all of them do. But the wise and aware ones definitely employ the 8 Secrets to Success. They also Conceive, Believe and Achieve. They leverage the powerful Law of Attraction and live joyful, fulfilling lives each and every day. And did I mention, these successful people do what they love and love what they do?

So many people are stuck in the "reality" of their current jobs and careers, or lack thereof. They are convinced that this reality is permanent. When in fact it is as temporary as the next thought they choose. In Perspectives on Work, I discussed people's common beliefs about work and what can be done to overcome them and move forward. All it takes is a shift in perspective. Once that shift is made, the ideal role will come quickly into your experience.

So, start thinking positively about your work and career. That's the first step. I also invite you all to re-read: Live Your True Reality and Thrive. Take your focus away from a job or career that you don't like and put it on the one that is waiting for you. It is only a thought away.

Would love to hear more about how you are all doing.

To your career success!

I coach anyone who is a fit for me, so I would be happy to help. Just email me in the link under my bio on the left and we can set up a sample coaching session. This will let you test drive whether the fit is there.

As for what I think, no you are not missing anything. However, your awareness of something missing is what could be holding you back from the career that is right for you. Just relax and believe that it is there for you. You need only allow it to manifest. Best of luck!
